There are multiple options when adding a new task in Assignar. It depends on what is the purpose of the task if it is for workers and assets task or a worker only task. Below we step you through how to set up an asset related task and a worker related task.

Add a new Task (with assets)

If the new task requires one or more assets, you can add them here and workers for this task will require the skills for that asset/s.

  1. Click Assets & Tasks > Tasks > Add new Task to create a brand new task. A pop-up will appear.

  1. Enter a task name. This will appear on task drop-down lists in a project, task group and order screens as well as allocations in the Fieldworker App.
  2. Enter an account code for this task (optional). This is used by the Payroll export to calculate the payable rate to workers that perform this task.
  3. Enter an external ID for this task (optional). This is usually used for importing data from external systems. If you’re not sure what this is, just leave it blank.
  4. Tick the Asset required? box or skill required box. The difference is one will be a worker only task (if skills are selected) and the other will be an asset and worker task (if assets are selected)
  5. Click to add one or more assets that are required for this task, by selecting from the drop-down list. NB. If a task has the Assets Required? checkbox ticked but no assets selected, the Allocations tab of the Order Details screen will display ALL assets for that task.
  6. Tick the Supervisor box (optional) if you want the person allocated to the task to be able to add crew timesheets for anyone in the allocation, essentially it works as supervisor task with more authority.
  7. Select Task Forms, this means you will link a form that is required to be completed for that particular task. It will automatically come up in the allocation for the worker to complete. I.e. Operator task you might want to link a pre-start form to always show up for them to complete.
  8. Click Save when you’ve finished creating this new task.
